It's fun. It's hard.
Balancing the kids and work for the summer can be nuts, but it's worth it. Before long, they'll be sleeping 'til noon and not wanting anything to do with me. So - while it may mean working late at night to get my stuff done, not caring what I look like in a bathing suit at the neighborhood pool, and seeking out every cheap or free thing to do with them in the area, I reckon I'll take that challenge while I can. The house will be messy, I won't feel as sharp in the work world, but I'll also have moments like this.
PS - So not usually this sappy. Blame the lack of sleep and high temps, y'all.

The photo is AMAZING! I like your sappy side;)
ReplyDeletelove the photo! i agree, summer will be a challenge... we do what we can!
ReplyDeleteWhat they said. :-)
ReplyDeleteWould like to know how you filtered/altered the photo to give it that old-fashioned dark edge look? Is this the effect called Lomax-ing?
I remember the many times I didn't play with my kids because the house was a wreck. I wish I could go back in time and play. After all, the house doesn't care. ;-)
what a perfect photo. i love it.
ReplyDeleteI love summer too. I get to really spend quality time with my teen, she still lets me. During school, it's just hectic and not fun, summer is IN. Love the photo.
ReplyDeletecor, that's an amazing photo, and completly agree with your sappy sentiment.
ReplyDeleteHouse work will always be there, but children will only be young once. You are right to make the most of it. I love the picture sort of like a sweet memory.
ReplyDeleteNot sappy, just honest. My one and only child is now 23 and take it from me, this is sound advice, esp. the part about letting the house be messy. It's so important to let certain things go so that you can have other more important things. They're off to college in the wink of an eye! Enjoy the summer!
ReplyDeleteWe home school. We get that summer feeling all year long.
ReplyDeleteNever too old for bubbles.
such a beautiful pic, Rachel! i agree, not sappy at all.
